Our story begins in 1988 in a small house on Gunbarrel Road here in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Our founder, Dr. Kapperman, knew then that he wanted to start an eyecare practice with a patient-centric approach that gave the highest level of care using cutting edge technology — all while eliciting the same feel as a small-town doctor who would come to your bedside if you weren’t feeling up to driving. Our focus has always been and continues to be about the people who’ve entrusted their eye health to us.

For the past 30 years, we’ve strived to be there for our patients in all seasons of life. When our patients walk out our door after a visit, we want them to leave feeling seen, cared for, and with no lingering questions. The way we can ensure this is by limiting the number of patients we see each day in order to give the kind of personal attention you can’t find elsewhere. Although we’ve grown quite a bit since that small office in 1988, our values have not changed.
